Simply a great app.

Awesome App.

Reserve has some amazing restaurants that I cant find on OpenTable.... It always seems to get me a reservation when I want where there have been many instances using OpenTable where it shows me "Not Available" and then I get in with Reserve. Highly recommended.

You cant find a bad restaurant on this app. They will help you even if your first choice is booked!

Worst on boarding experience!

Before you can do anything in this app you have to enter a ton of personal information *and* a credit card!!! Why don’t you show some value before you’re asking me to give you my cc number? Also the chat interface is not intuitive, you need to tap a round checkmark to send the message. Over all the UI looks washed out and has no clear structure CTA etc. It’s not clear to me what the advantage of this service is over OpenTable.

Good concept but needs to work out some kinks

I used this app for a pricey meal in NY. Towards the end of it, the entire bill was automatically charged by our waiter through my Reserve account without any authorization or signature -- we were simply presented with the receipt. My party wanted to use our cards and split it, but were told it was too late and we couldnt. Over a month later, I come to find the transaction didnt even go though due to a technical glitch and had to be reprocessed! Use this app with caution. The staff is very friendly and will get you in the door, but youll pay the price (a reservation fee, the entire bill -- unless you get your entire party to download the app and add their credit card details to split the bill, and a headache). UPDATE: Reserve apologized for the hassle and said theyd tell the restaurant to check with customers to confirm before processing Reserve payments. Bumping up my rating to 3 stars to account for the excellent customer service.

Great experience

My new favorite way to dine. Always a great experience and have tried so many new spots. Loving Reserve!

Ridiculous app

One of the stupider apps Ive seen, if a restaurant requires you to use this inefficient and annoying app you should think about eating elsewhere

Borderline Useless

I am not sure why this app has such a good rating. I only use it when Im required to by a restaurant. Its supposed to work like a concierge service but it goes unresponsive. Ive been trying to get a reservation all day but it wont update me. Id rather know that Im not able to get in than to be left hanging like this.

Out of Touch and Aggressive

This app demands personal info and valid credit card as well as your agreement to an automatic 20% tip. Re the first issue...why would you let loose of your data and card to be hacked like Target or the fed government. Who even knows who the developer is or if they can be trusted....dont make the mistake of thinking its Apple. Re the auto tip...its just a markup since it isnt tied to service or quality. And, who knows where it actually goes or if the app takes a piece of it. I deleted because its out of touch with reality.

USELESS. Splash screen wont go away

Stupid splash screen recommending update wont close, preventing you from using the app if you dont - but if youre not on iOS 8+ you cant update, so youre screwed and stuck with a dumb screen that wont close. USELESS NOW.

Designed to Help Restaurants, Not to Help Diners

Th app is nicely designed, but its a pain to use. You cannot merely choose a reservation, you have to ask for one then wait for a response. After waiting for hours, I received a notice that I had 30 minutes to accept a time an hour later than I wanted. I could not get responses from everyone involved to respond, so the app declined my reservation. Since I also had to give my credit card information just to make a reservation and a standard percentage for the tip,even tho I dont want to and dont want to pay through the app, I tried to delete my credit card info, which I could not do without adding other credit card info. So I tried to cancel my membership, but neither the app nor the website told me how to do that. So I wrote to the "concierge" and was told Id have to write to support. Which I did. Then I received a confirmation for dinner at a time that Id never agreed to. So I had to write to them again. Because the other magic of this app is the no-show or late fees for not showing up in time. A great app for those who want to be painfilled instead of painless reservation experiences.

Out of Touch With Reality

In order to find out if a reservation is available, you have to fill out your credit card info, along with a tip percentage. Having never used the app, nor dined at the restaurant, the app demands that you show you can afford to even go to the restaurant. And apparently, the app knows your dining experience will be perfect, and you will not have to do your own math to calculate a tip. Its already factored in. And dont worry, everyone in your party carries cash to pay you as they wouldnt be able to use their own payment method. Pointless app. Why do you need my CC info to make a reservation at a restaurant?

What r they thinking?

Horrible experience. Id give the app 0 stars if I could. This was the only way the restaurant I wanted to go to accepted reservations. So I had no choice but to register and book thru Reserve. First problem: reservation inquiry and confirmation is NOT real time like on Open Table. I got a message from Reserve saying they will check availability with the restaurant and get back to me. It took them 3 weeks to get back to me!!!! While a popular restaurant its not Iike its a big famous fancy restaurant that can take weeks or months to get into. Second problem: u have to put ur credit card info in order to register to use the app. I assume this is how my meal will be paid for and thus they r trying to create a cashless transaction for the restaurant. However I was very uncomfortable with this. I cant imagine they have very good security in which to protect my credit card info and prevent fraud. I intend to go to the restaurant at this point after all the hassle but plan to inform them how bad the customer experience is thru this app.

Too risky to trust

Cancelled my "reserved two weeks ahead" restaurant the day before Valentines day for no reason. Restaurant confirmed that the cancellation request was sent through Reserve. Even with $250 deposit money paid you still cannot trust this app. Just dont use it.

Love Reserve!

Used for Valentines Day and loved it! The concierge helped me find a restaurant in the area I wanted and made the experience super seamless. It can be difficult getting reservations in NYC and this app makes it so simple. And just FYI after reading other reviews on here, youre able to adjust the tip up until you close out the check.. Dont let that be a deciding factor of why you wouldnt use this app.
